Efficient Bedroom Designs

In many accommodations, bedrooms are not just simple sleeping rooms - they have to be multifunctional spaces. Nowadays, there are numerous bedroom designs that consider the aspect of space economy and apply it through various geometric rules and innovating tricks. The most practical bedroom designs include extra walls, special furniture items, customized coloring and mirrors that provide an effective space management, so that the bedroom can also function as a living, working or family room.

Coloring one or two walls of the room in a contrasting color will create a benefic effect. Firstly, if coloring one wall an intense apple green, cyclamen, red or baby blue will refresh the mood of the bedroom, by adding a modern and trendy touch. Secondly, if the side walls are in darker colors and the front wall is painted in a brighter one, like pale cream, ivory or white, the room will significantly seem longer. If you want the room to seem broader, then do the same thing to the side walls.

Another increase effect can be achieved if using an oversized mirror on the front wall or even better, on 2 sides that form a corner. Adding a small table with décor items in front of this kind of mirror – and not a blocking, massive piece of furniture, will make it seem that the room is extending itself, due to the images in the mirror. Another one of the bedroom designs tricks that is used for making the space seem bigger considers furnishing the room with small items, low beds and chairs. First, the ceiling will seem higher, so the room will seem taller, plus the small items will add space and an optical wideness effect.

If your bedroom also includes a working desk with a computer and this room is also meant to be used as a home office, then the most suitable bedroom designs are the ones that consider dividing the space into more areas. The division can be made with a separation wall, half the length of the regular bedroom walls, which can be set either parallel or perpendicular to the door. In some cases, a simple curtain can have the same usage – but consider a more formal one if the curtain should work as the office’s door.

The new innovations in bedroom designs include a wide range of special effects that create more organized and economical accommodations. If applying both rules of bedroom designs, coloring and division, your new bedroom will look like a spacious and complex space.
